Hundreds of Harry Potter fans dressed up in costume Wednesday as they snapped up the Japanese translation of the seventh and final book of the series, a year after it appeared in English.

The figure is up 50 per cent on the previous year and represents 700 million cinema admissions.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, was the highest-grossing British film of 2007, taking £470 million worldwide.

Rowling's comments came in a BBC Scotland programme about the degenerative disease, in which she commented about her mother, saying:
"I started writing Harry six months before she died. That's obviously a real regret, because I never told her I was even writing it.
"She never knew anything about Harry Potter at all."

Platform 9 and 3/4 will be shifted later this year to allow construction work on the West side of King's Cross, according to Jon Burden the former Duty Station Manager at King's Cross, who led a tour of the area yesterday. The enchanted platform will be relocated to the front of the station, close to the ticket office, in September.

HP Fansite Potterish is reporting the trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be shown in Brazil on August 15th with the release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
There are reports *unconfirmed* that state the trailer will be shown in the US on August 1.

Pupils aged between nine and 15 were asked which books should be read by politicians to provide them with an insight into the main issues and concerns of children and teenagers.
